“Translating Policies into Self-Care Practices”
You can find out more on the SAGE website via this link

One of the biggest challenges for policies which seek to embed self-care into everyday practice across the self-care continuum has shown itself to be threefold:
1. A lack of maturity for collaborative stakeholder partnerships in translating the policy into sustainable practices;
2. Loss of individual innovations from research into applied regulatory frameworks and practices;
3. Empowerment and measurement loops to ensure sustained uptake by all actors.

The Self-Care Initiative Europe ( was launched in 2018 to address these fundamental issues as a collaborative network across the EU. Much knowledge can be shared and extrapolated from across the globe to make self-care of tomorrow a reality. As such, the purpose of this special edition is to bring together studies and analysis which address or have already sought to find solutions to the three main challenges outlined above.
